What is WaterStarr? An Interview with Dr. Watters
Just prior to the WaterStarr Inaugural Gala, Dr. Watters was interviewed by Emmy Award Winning TV Host, Jenn Brown. During this interview, Ms Brown asked Dr. Watters about a range of topics relating to WaterStarr, including the idea that sparked the initiative, what WaterStarr plans to do and where it hopes to be in 10 years, and messages for everyone on how they can support a healthier environment and ensure a bright future.

WaterStarr held its inaugural gala on April 22, 2025 (Earth Day) at the St. Regis hotel in Toronto, Ontario. At this event, Emmy Award Winning TV Host Jenn Brown served as Master of Ceremonies, and Dr. Robert J. Watters presented a speech about the current state of human and environmental health, the root causes of our problems, and a Made in Canada Solution to the global effort of restoring health and securing a future for all life on the planet.

It's time for humanity to acknowledge that we all share one airshed, one watershed, and a single planet. Mother Earth, who provides a home for all 8.5 billion of us, is suffering and we need to do something about it. Dr. Robert J. Watters created the Oath to Mother Earth to outline a set of promises for humans to live life in a more respectful manner … one that aligns with the Natural Balance of our planet, so that we can start to restore the damages we have done and ensure a healthier future for us and Mother Earth.

When Dr. Watters stretches the four elastics, he is showing us what is happening to the planet in real time. Earth, air, water, and sun are the foundations of life — and each is under growing strain. This is not only an environmental issue. It is a human issue. It affects our children, our health, our food, our communities, and the future we leave behind. WaterStarr is working to protect the elements of life before the damage becomes irreversible.

We see the damage. We hear the warnings. We watch the air, land, water, and climate being pushed beyond their limits — and still, too often, we continue as if nothing is happening. But inaction is not neutral. When we see harm and do nothing, inertia becomes part of the damage. WaterStarr exists to help wake people from that numbness — to turn concern into action, awareness into responsibility, and responsibility into protection for the elements that sustain every life on Earth.

Natural Balance is the foundation for how the Earth's systems operate — the cause-and-effect rules, at a planetary scale, by which the Earth maintains health and balance within the essential elements of life: energy flows, cycles, limits and thresholds, interdependence, and feedback loops. WaterStarr grounds its work in this science and systems thinking, uniting education, policy, business, and individual behavior to make protection of the four elements a practical necessity, not an ideology.
